  1. Program Basics:

    Basically, four things make a Certified Pre-Owned VWwhat it is. First, it's got to qualify. Then it must undergo our 112-point inspection. After that, we give it a limited warranty and provide 2-years of Roadside Assistance.

  2. Participating Vehicle Qualifications:

    Obviously the VW in question has got to be pre-owned. Used. What else? Well, it cannot be more than five years old. In addition, it must have less than 75,000 miles or120,000 km on the odometer, and if there's any new car warranty remaining on the vehicle, the vehicle must be at least 12 months in service. Last, but not least, it must undergo our rigorous 112-point Inspection.

  3. The 112-point inspection:

    In order to qualify as "Certified Pre-Owned," a VW's critical systems and components must undergo a rigorous inspection, conducted by a qualified Volkswagen technician. Which vehicle parts and systems are we talking about here? Well, these right here.

  4. The CPO Warranty:

    The bottom line is all Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagens are covered by a 2 year or 24,000 mile/40,000 km (whichever comes first) comprehensive limited warranty. A few of the finer details: There's no deductible charged when you visit a dealer for covered repairs. In the U.S. and Canada, you also receive the balance of the 5 year or 50,000 mile/80,000 km limited powertrain warranty and any remaining corrosion perforation warranty. The VW Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty begins when the new car limited warranty expires or the used sale date, whichever occurs later. Warranty repairs can be made at any authorized Volkswagen dealer in the U.S. or Canada. Obviously there are a few things you'll have to be responsible for--like normal wear and tear, any alterations you make and (heaven forbid) accidental damage. You'll also have to take care of regular maintenance services like oil changes.

  5. Roadside Assistance:

    We want you to feel confident about your Certified Pre- Owned VW. Which is why you'll receive two years of coverage in the Roadside Assistance program at no charge. And guess what? Mileage is unlimited. Then, if you need help, just call us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the U.S. or Canada and help is on its way. Who is that help? In the U.S., Roadside Assistance is provided by the American Automobile Association (AAA) and its affiliated clubs. In Canada, it's provided by Professional Dispatch Group, Welland, Ontario, Canada L3C 6B5.
